New `Free Golf’ Passport Program Launched by Top-Rated Southern Oregon Golf Courses
MEDFORD, Ore.–(BW SportsWire)–June 26, 2002
Southern Oregon’s finest golf courses have joined together to create a new “Southern Oregon Golf Trail” promotional group, and four courses are kicking off the program by offering a unique passport program that allows golfers to earn free golf.
Running Y Resort (Klamath Falls), Eagle Point Golf Course (Medford), Salmon Run Golf Course (Brookings) and Myrtle Creek Golf Course (Myrtle Creek) are now offering a Southern Oregon Golf Trail Passport, which players may purchase at any of the four participating courses for $49.95 or two for $75.00. Golfers validate their passport by playing each course before the end of the year (2002). Golfers earn a free round of golf in 2003 for each course they played in 2002.
In addition, each passport course is providing a gift to the passport holder. All the passport courses are nationally recognized by major golf publications and provide an affordable and unforgettable golf experience. (Bandon Dunes is not a participant in the opening passport program).
“We hope our new golf trails website and passport program will help introduce people to the wonderful variety of Southern Oregon golf,” explains Salmon Run’s Pete Pavich, president of the Southern Oregon Golf Trail. Pavich points out that the most impressive aspects of Southern Oregon golfing are affordability and availability of tee times. “The majority of our 32 courses are open year round and offer great all-around value and a vast assortment of affordable stay and play packages.”
Southern Oregon, long noted for its variety of travel activities including beaches, wineries, the Oregon Shakespeare Festival, fishing, river rafting and an abundance of great weather, also boasts some of the best golf in the country. The emergence of Bandon Dunes as a golf destination has presented golfers the opportunity to focus on the extraordinary golf existing in all of Southern Oregon.
