National Golf Properties acquires 20 golf courses from Golf Enterprises
The consideration consisted of approximately $17.2 million of cash and $40.8 million (1,577,820 shares) of common stock of National Golf Properties.
The 20 courses acquired by National Golf Properties include six courses in Texas; two courses in each of Florida, Kansas, Louisiana and Oklahoma; and one course in each of Colorado, Idaho, North Carolina, Ohio, South Carolina and Tennessee. All of the purchased courses have been leased to American Golf Corp., which operates more than 220 golf courses throughout the United States and United Kingdom.
National Golf Properties, a self-administered real estate investment trust, is the largest publicly traded company in the United States specializing in the acquisition and ownership of golf course properties.
Since its initial public offering in August 1993, National Golf Properties has acquired 66 golf courses for approximately $330 million. National Golf Properties currently owns 111 golf courses consisting of 50 daily-fee courses, 42 private-club courses and 19 resort courses geographically diversified among 27 states.
