How he got started: After a flood washed out the San Diego course where Rodriguez was assistant superintendent, he served as construction manager for the rebuilding job, then stayed in the business. Rodriguez worked two years for Jack Nicklaus’ Golden Bear/Paragon Construction, then started DGI in 1997.
Courses he’s built: Cabo del Sol and Cabo Real in Los Cabos and PGA West in La Quinta, Calif., among others. Show us the money: DGI is doing $70 million in construction at 10 sites. Rodriguez travels 260 days a year.
